Eugene/Springfield Chapter 1010
Press Release - Mayors Proclaim National Ballroom Dance Week
Eugene Mayor Lucy Vinis and Springfield Mayor Christina Lundberg proclaim the week of September 15 through September 24, 2017 as National Ballroom Dance Week and call upon citizens to join together in supporting the observance.
The cities of Eugene and Springfield have recognized that ballroom dancing benefits their communities by increasing interest and participation in dancing and providing an array of dance opportunities that benefit related businesses.
The proclamation signed by Mayor Vinis states, "Ballroom dancing is a wonderful way for people of all ages to enjoy meeting new friends and benefiting from exercise that is fun, relaxing and good for the spirit."
Mayor Lundberg warmly welcomed board members of the Eugene/Springfield Chapter 1010 of USA Dance to address the city council and receive the proclamation.
A calendar of dance and dance related events has been developed by the Eugene/Springfield Chapter 1010 of USA Dance in coordination with the cities and other dance studios, teachers and clubs. Further information is available by visiting the Chapter's website at www.eugeneballroom.org.
