November President Ponderings
As I reflect upon our November dance celebrating the chapter's 17th anniversary and ponder our future, I see both excitement and concerns. Looking back at this past year with the changes we have experienced: five new board members and a new dance location. We also have had our first big dance event the Autumn Serenade Ball, celebrating national ballroom dance week.
Looking into the future I do see some concerns, the foremost of which is our decline in attendance at our monthly dances and the board members burnout. As you know the board is a voluntary position and there are no perks. We can use your help with our dances; set up before the dance, clean up after the dance and with refreshments. We are all part of the chapter so help us make the dances the best we possibly can for everyone.
In January the board will be deciding whether or not to have another Autumn Serenade Ball. Your input is important so if you enjoyed the last Ball and would like to see another one please let a board member know.
There will be a survey sent out to our dancers, please fill them out and get them back to us. The survey will help us to keep our Chapter moving in a positive direction.
I would like to thank Carla for the Foxtrot lesson and the new mixer she taught us for the November dance. The next dance will be December 13th, at St. Brigid's School. The lesson is the Waltz taught by Angela Markle, with the lesson starting at 7 P.M. with open dancing to follow.
I would like to wish everyone safe and happy holidays.
