August 2014 Presidential Ponderings
"Real men dance, all the others just play with ..... balls." Anonymous
I have done a lot of pondering over my pondering's this month. I've decided that I'm a little sad that summer is drawing near it's end. But on the other hand I am looking forward to the fall and our Autumn Serenade Ball.
Speaking of the Autumn Serenade Ball this year's event should be spectacular with Richard Tonizzo, and Claire Hansen as our featured pros, who are two of the top rated dancers in the country. The menu selections are delicious and of course, the music will be outstanding. If you have not yet purchased your tickets, the dead line is fast approaching. September 10th is when the ticket sales end. Also remember this year it is a fundraising event for the Johnny Burke Children's Foundation. So come on out for an enjoyable event while helping to support a local foundation that helps children and their families who are in need.
If you missed our August dance we had a great time. The pot luck was great; there was loads of good food. We had lots of time to dance. Even while eating, the music continued to play and dancers danced the night away.
Our September Dance will be on the 12th at St. Brigid's school in the gym. Terri (Sweet) Herrick will be teaching the Hustle. Lesson starts a 7pm general dancing at 8pm. Hope you can all make it.
One last thought. This is an election year for our chapter, so please consider running for a position on the board. Four of our current board members are not seeking re-election; there needs to be at least seven board members. We need you to make our chapter an active, viable organization.
See you at the dance,
