September 2014 Presidential Ponderings
September has been an exciting month with the Autumn Serenade Ball. What a great event! For those who attended this year, they were entertained by pro dancers Richard (not me) and Claire, and what a treat that was. There were also five local showcase dance performances that were all well done and very entertaining. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, Burt Watson Chevrolet of Freeland, Leslie Toland of Chemical Bank Financial Advisors, Wolverine Bank and 3 anonymous donors, we were able to raise $1250 for The Johnny Burke Children's Foundation. I would also like to thank Rick Popp for being our DJ again and for his generosity. Great music, great dancers and good food all made for a great time!
If you would like to see the Autumn Ball continue let the board know. Write them a letter, send an e-mail, tell them in person. We need your input if you want it to continue. Also, if you have any pictures you would like to share we would like to put them on our website.
Our September dance was fun filled and featured Terri Herrick teaching the hustle... thank you Terri.
The October dance is our Halloween celebration, so dress up as your favorite goblin or ghoul (costumes are optional). Carolyn Wehner will be our guest instructor teaching the East Coast Swing, lesson starts at 7pm at St. Brigid's in Midland.
October is when we will be finalizing the ballot for the chapters elections. If you are interested in becoming a member of the board now is the time to volunteer! There are 4 current board members not running for re-election.
