Liberty Science Center (LSC), the world class museum and learning center located in Liberty State Park on the Jersey City bank of the Hudson River near the Statue of Liberty, and the Greater New York Chapter of USA Dance, organizer of the 27th Annual Manhattan Amateur Classic (aka The MAC), announced a collaboration to introduce Ballroom Dance to Jersey City and to introduce cutting edge science, technology and discovery to dance participants and fans.
LSC will be providing Free Tickets to winners of Youth Competitions and Discount Tickets to all MAC participants, friends, families and fans. Dance teams from dozens of colleges, and hundreds of young adults, will be participating in the three-day MAC competition to be held over the Martin Luther King Holiday weekend.
MAC features America's top Amateur Ballroom dancers and will be held January 13 to 15, 2017, at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, New Jersey. More than 1,000 dancers are expected to perform.
"LSC is a fabulous science center and will provide our dancers and their families with a great activity beyond the dance floor, said Daphna Locker, President of the Greater New York Chapter of USA Dance. "It's a great addition to this year's event."
"Trajectory Sports, MAC's marketing advisor, recognized the benefits LSC can bring to our dancers and fans, and brought us all together," added Locker. "Their expertise in sports and event marketing has been invaluable to us."
"Liberty Science Center is committed to Jersey City and to stimulating interest in science for everyone. Anytime we can team up with a dynamic event such as MAC, we are eager to participate," said Mary McDonald, LSC Director, Group Relations and Partnerships. "Our Interactive Exhibitions, the 3D Theater, and the world's largest IMAX Dome Theater are always among the most popular attractions."
