The South Coast Ballroom Dancers holds a monthly social dance at the Eagles Club, 268 South Second Street, in Coos Bay, from 7:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M. on the first Friday of the month. We always start our dance with a one-hour lesson. We follow the lesson with two hours of open dancing to a variety of different kinds of music. Our club has been in existence since 2003, so our members know and enjoy a large selection of dances, and we provide that opportunity. The dances that our group enjoys include Fox Trot, East Coast Swing, Rumba, Waltz, Cha-Cha, Night Club Two Step, West Coast Swing, and Tango. We hold practice sessions on the first and third Sunday evenings of the month from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the North Bend Housing Authority, 1700 Monroe in North Bend. These sessions focus in on one dance, and include times for lesson, sharing, and doing! We also hold three major events per year with catered food and live music, often in a "dress up" atmosphere. Singles and couples are welcome. We are finding that besides dancing, people are enjoying the social aspects of our group, as many friendships have been formed. We can direct you to lesson opportunities in our area, both group and private.
