Welcome to the Paris Academy of Ballroom Dancing! We are ideally located 45 minutes south of Boston and 45 minutes north of Providence.
We teach all the dances - Foxtrot, Salsa, EC Swing, Hustle, Tango, Cha Cha, Waltz, Samba, Rumba, Quickstep, V. Waltz, Mambo, Merengue, Bachata, Lindy Swing, Bolero, Paso Doble, Jive, Polka, WC Swing, Nightclub, and Freestyle.
LEVELS OF STUDENTS
All levels are welcome - Beginner through advanced (Bronze, Silver, and Gold). Social dancers, showcase dancers and competitive dancers will feel at home here.
AGES OF OUR STUDENTS
Our youngest is 7 and our oldest is 78. We have our own Teen Group Class as well as teaching specialty classes at several of the area Middle Schools and High Schools.
LESSONS
We teach both private lessons and group classes. Each has its specific purpose. In private lessons, you can concentrate on style and technique or specific dances of your choosing. Whether you want to learn a choreographed routine for a wedding, get out on the dance floor at a nightclub or other social event, perform an individualized routine in a showcase or enter competition, private lessons will provide you with specialized training.
Group classes are useful for learning basic dance patterns in several dances and most importantly, how to lead or follow with different partners.
WEDDINGS
Bring us your songs and we will choreograph a special routine for your first and last dance. Start early and you will also learn to dance comfortably to a variety of music. We teach wedding couples, wedding parties, parents, etc. Special group classes can be arranged for entire wedding parties.
COMPETITION TRAINING
We train dancers for Amateur or Pro/Am competition in Bronze, Silver and Gold Levels of American Style - Smooth & Rhythm and International Style - Standard & Latin.
DANCE PARTIES
Paris Academy hosts two Dance Parties each month.
The Ballroom Dance Party on the 2nd Friday of each month is is held at Occasions Banquet Hall and is open to the general public. There is a dance lesson at 8:15pm taught by Barry Lawton of Paris Academy with social dancing from 9pm-11:30pm. We play all the ballroom dances for your dancing and listening enjoyment.
The Rhythm Nights Dance on the 4th Friday of each month is held at Occasions Banquet Hall and is open to the Public. There is a dance lesson at 8:15pm with social dancing from 9pm - 11:30pm. The music format is rotating sets of Hustle, EC Swing, Salsa, WC Swin
